I got a shot. I got a shot and I didn't tense up, and I didn't have to spend ten minutes working up to it, and I didn't try to run away. I didn't even shy from the needle.

Needles are my greatest immediate fear in life. I'm afraid of aging, disability, and lonliness, but those aren't immediate physical fears. Needles are. And I just stood down an immunization without even so much as a whimper. So I've faced my greatest fear, and If I ever sit down for a blood draw I'll have conquered it.

As far as needles go... I don't mind them so much. I think it's only because I've been to the doctor's more times than your normal Joe Schmo. I remember the doctor being surprised once because I had actually asked if I was due for any shots because I wanted one. Weird.
