I got my ritalin presciption filled today. The effect was not nearly as dramatic or noticable as last week. Now, I'm ruling out the possibility that I was high as a kite or some such last week, but the feeling was supernatural.

This time around I certainly felt somewhat calmer and more coherent, and I actually got a few things done that are usually difficult for me, like actually hemming the edges of something that I'm sewing.

Eitherway, it's here, I like it, I embrace my newfound addiction and will revel in it. The conquest of the world is not at all out of the question.

Dinner tonight is pita and hummus, and some stuffed grape leaves. Stuffed grape leaves are an acquired taste. I think the next time I have to drink alcohol to keep someone's parents from feeling insulted I'll return the favor by introducing the guilty party to stuffed grape leaves.

I've come to enjoy doing the vegitarian thing. After having gone without meat for two and a half weeks or so I find the idea of eating meat vaguely distasteful. I just don't think I would enjoy it anymore. I had a to think about it before I pulled some eggs out of the fridge this morning, and even then I didn't enjoy them as much as I used to. I don't intend to buy more after I use up the batch I have.

So far I haven't purchased any substitute products, unless you count the rice milk. Seitan might count, but it's closest resemblance to meat is the appearance. I think a lot of the people who compare the taste and texture to that of meat hadn't eaten meat in a long while. It might be the oddest plant product I've ever eaten, but it's still a plant product.

I am vaguely concerned that being fairly new to a plant based diet and on a mild stimulant that causes loss of appetite is something I should be aware of, but I think that if I remeber to eat between pills I should be fine. The trick is going to be to start cooking in the last hour before a dose wears off and I become hungry.

On a contradictory note, I need to make some leg restraints. Anyone know where I can get hypoalergenic saddlery rivets?

You know, I might just be an elitist bastard, but I consider the use of chicago screws and the various sorts of two piece rivet so prevelant in bondage gear to be a sign of poor worksmanship. I prefer the sort of rivet where the burr is set on the shank and the shank is peened down to for a nice, round planished surface to hold the burr in place. I trust that kind of rivet, because it's simple and because it's a very difficult to close, so it is also very difficult to break. The downside, of course, is that if you have someone who is allergic to most common metals you can't use this sort of rivet, because their is no way that I know of to close Ti or Surgical Stainless rivets by hand.

Damn. Now I want to make a bondage harness but I don't have any leather that is long enough.

You can pick up 308 stainless rivets off of ebay usually. I recommend two piece rivets as they're easier to set, lay flush so as not to cut, and look nice, but that's me. 308 is old surgical grade. You're not going to find 316, but if anyone has an allergy to 308 they really should just remove their genes from the pool anyway. Anyone that sensitive to nickle has got problems.

I went without meat for a few years, it thoroughly grossed me out. now I can't get enough of it. strange how that is. I just don't like to think of what it used to be, or look like what is was.....whole chickens.....gag me.
