Hi Kids! Long time, no blog... I hope everyone's doing well out there!

We are finally recouperated from catering our friends' wedding on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. The crowd was a lot of fun, mostly alternative/tattooed vegan folks and drunk relatives. The soundtrack was cool (one of their friends brought their ipod and hooked it up to a PA)... and the site was gorgeous, right on the beach in the woods. The menu was vegan and aside from a few glitches (like my car not starting the morning of the wedding!) we pretty much made the wedding. Here's a sampling of what we served:

Pan Seared Asparagus
Mushroom Stuffed Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Hummus (from scratch)
Roasted Garlic Spread
Artichoke Spread
Veggie Tray
Fruit Tray
Vegan Bread
Asian Slaw
Salad
Sauteed Mushrooms
and the main course:
Grilled Squash Skewers
Grilled Potato Skewers
both served with a Roasted Pepper Coulis

Everyone loved the food... and me, my husband and my son were stoked that we pulled off yet another successful catered event. Not bad for a family of Omnivores!
....Next week my son starts middle school... hopefully he scores the digital film elective he wanted!
