First off Im not trying to pretend to be anybody of any importance but was just thinking of a few things that might be helpful in winning set of the day as that's the goal now isn't it? This is strictly from a members perspective and not meant directly towards anybody or to hurt anyone's feelings, if you have seen my comments you know I try to keep things classy and witty.
Anyways to begin we should look at what set of the day essentially is which in short is a popularity contest of sorts, so in order to win you've got to get "loved its", comments and other activity. So heres what I have to say to all of that.

1. Unlock your ability for people to follow you, really this is free promotion as sometimes people who would definitely give your set attention simply dont know your set has been posted, relatively straight forward yet I see it alot on here.

2. Correspondence, if somebody takes the time to write any sort of interesting or stand out comment any sort of response is probably highly appreciated, I know for me I usually browse this on my phone for just a few minutes at a time but if anybody responds to a comment I will absolutely take the time to look at all of your sets liking them all and leaving as many comments and tags as possible, I would like to think that others do too, and usually its the older sets that are just below 2000 likes that are your closest to winning set of the day yet they are sadly buried and do not see much traffic unlike the most recent set.

3. Stand out!!!! This one is tough, but all I can really say is that usually sets that are unique seem to win more often, things like themes, props, anything you can think of to not have "im just in the woods, or this is my back yard, and im not saying some of those are not great sets just saying". Another part of this is take a LOT of photos, if you look at all of the winners they are usually not sets on the shorter side of things. Let your longer set tell a story of sorts and im sure you'll get significantly more attention. Finally I'll mention crotch shots, absolutely do whatever you're comfortable with but im a number annalist by trade and its pretty clear that sets that have them get more likes, I say considering the prize shoot EVERY set as if its going to be your last, that will surely get you the title you all deserve.
