so i don't really write blogs that much...but have been thinking about sg a lot lately. i first joined in late 2003. i was a fresh eyed college freshman, and after someone told me what sg was about, i was immediately interested. beautiful girls with tattoos, and more of an online community than just a site. 5 years later, i'm still here.
not that sg is a big part of my life at all, but i've been reminising a lot lately. you know how you when you LOVE an independant band, then start to lose interest when they finally get signed? i kind of get that feeling every now and then about sg. now i know the band thing is the dumbest thing to do - if you really love the band, you want them to be sucsessful and grow - but there's this ownership of them that you lose when they go big.
sg has gone big, which is not neseccarily a bad thing. more girls, cool new friends, better technology - it's all great. i'm just saying that every now and then i miss the good old days when sg was rough around the edges. when you could actually be the first to comment on someones set or journal, when you knew a girl was going to be a new sg, and were really excited for them, when the communities were small and you knew everyone, when sg army was huge - people used to earn points by putting sg stickers on things, when girl's amazon's wishlists were really exciting to hear about. i remember getting quinne tea one year haha.
now i feel like the site is flooded with people who just add "nice tits" or "girl i want you soo bad" comments on everything. like a lot of things in life, i just wish there was a moron filter. this site is not about finding girls to sleep with, and it's really annoying when people try to use it for that.
again, not hating, just reflecting. keep in mind this is coming from someone who has 6 girls who are gone in his favs.
anyway, thanks to all who make this site great. seeing new sets and reading blogs is one of the small highlights of my day. for all you awesome people still out there: thanks, and keep up the good work.
