this weeks sucks.

"the fruit and the decay"
i can feel the emptiness slithering inside me
just like a snake moving through the tree
so i eat the fruit and then i decay
embraced the sin instead of washing it away
i took a bone and erased my name from the dirt

i buried heaven where i hid in forbidden shade
to lay to rest what i thought i could flood

all that remained sacred was left behind the stone
this space in this temple crumbles for me alone
and i waited for my sanctuary
i built one in myself and left god as hollow as me
like the spirit that spilled in me from the first

if the angels close their wings that give shelter
then i'll shut my eyes and stop believing

i reached into the sky
to pull down a star
i dreamed i died
but awoke with the scar

stretched my arms wide open like i was a cross
