like jesus on the cross
resurrected

a sanctuary in a gun
a temple with an open wound

i saw a star shoot into a spiral
the way angels fly through smoke
and into skin
puncturing skies of flesh and red
to decorate with a scar
like a stone that never covers
and ties itself to my wings

i cannot reach heaven
disenchanted
from all the lies
