So Mirrormask finally came out on DVD. It is incredible how Dave McKean's visual style translated into... this. I got a late start watching it (after 1 AM), so I left it paused to go to bed, and I've vowed to myself that I will not watch the rest until I comlete the paper I'm working on. In the meantime, I have the song "Close To You" stuck in my head, from a scene in the movie that is creepy as hell. I'm loving it.
In other areas, Valentine's Day was awkward. I didn't get a valentine gift for someone I intended to (but she got an anonymous valentine and thought it was from me), and I got one from someone I didn't intend to. Crazy.
And yesterday, I had a nice chat with my best friend. We haven't seen much of eachother in the past few years, and when we have it has always been in mixed company which prevented us from talking openly. So we went out for pizza last night, which turned into a four-hour long talk about everything from highschool friends to our distant futures, and where we hope to be vs. where we expct to be. It was good to not be shallow for a minute or two.
And now (speaking of depth), I have to finish writing this paper on the Dalai Lama.

glad your paper went well and that you get to continue your studies. i think i'd probably need a breather after a paper like that, but hey, whatever floats your boat!
and it can be fun to move. too bad you have to use your WHOLE vacation to do it, but that means you're getting a new place, right? that's fun! i like to decorate and arrange stuff, so maybe it's just me who finds it fun. i know the grunting/moving/dropping/shoving part isn't nearly as fun as the last minute touches. but hopefully you can celebrate heartily since you won't have class the next day.
