How is it that all local meteorologists are so incompetent?

My jury duty was for July 19th, too. And they said they'd cover bus fare. I'm probably not going though, sadly, at least for another six months. I hope you have fun at yours. I was kind of looking forward to it.

i think that since greg is going i will not be able to come to portland with you. ::le sigh::

My parents are coming this Friday. They were trying to get in contact with me to figure out what of all my crap they're going to haul out here in their minivan. I decided they should keep the comic books for now just because they've got climate control and I'm pretty low even on the number of windows that open. It'll be a smorgasbord of...

I got the money from selling off my MonoMachine in the bank today. Now I have to figure out which of the many, many things on my "to do" list should get it. I think it might be time to get an estimate on replacing the electrical service panel, which is an obstacle both to my music and carpentry ambitions. OTOH, there's so much other...

Hey Fractured, thanks for the comment.

For the HL2 level I'm working on, I'm using just the standard HL2 mapping software (Hammer 2.0; bundled with the SDK) and the stock textures. Still to be done is more texture work, lighting tweaks, and I think it needs more physics objects to play with -- otherwise we might as well be playing the original half-life. In any case though, it's a lot of fun, and the CAD stuff is good practice.

I love time travel! But actually, you should check out what idiotic thing I'm trying to talk people into doing in my friends thread wink

One of the few times in my recent history where things are happening in my personal life and I'm having problems finding the time to write anything here. This time, I'll ride the line between summary and most of the story:

- My ex-gf left on Sunday. We didn't decide anything, mostly because it seemed pointless to me when it wouldn't have any discernible effect...

I have to let you in on something, I figured out guys are idiots a long time ago wink it's something all of us women know.

But yeah, I'm in the either/or club when it comes to leaving comments. As in: it's either a short novella/ or it two words. I never seem to be able to get anything out in a reasonable length comment.

I had an amazingly long, multi part journal entry and then lost it because I was going to respond to something inane that MrTom wrote. That man is going to feel a world of hurt - probably in the form of a hangover.

My entry involved:

- My mixed feelings about Sleater Kinney and their live show.

- Thoughts about live shows in general and...

I think one of my personal favorites (besides the cameo laden "mr. tastee" Natch.) is this one:

I am a dot. I am a dot. I am a dot.

i think giving borth to my children would be somewhat painful, but as long as you have them when they're screaming and/or smelly and I have them when they're being adorable you're more than welcome to do so.

From Saturday through last night, I've managed to find an excuse every day to spend way too much time gardening or scoping out plants at stores. It's ridiculous but it's not stopping for at least a couple days and perhaps a few years.

Definitely one of the awesome people! I mean you know who the monks are. Not many people do, so that alone would make you rad, but then everything else seemed pretty rad as well.

I think we're gonna do a movie night thing there sometime soon.

Last night was good and I'm not too bad off today.

The meet-up started off a little slow, especially since I didn't know most of the SG specific topics of conversation. Once that passed and the air became more comfortable, it was cool. It definitely would have been better if the SGBC people could have hung around and had a drink.

After the SGBC crew...

Last night I discovered Whole Foods sells wasabi peas without MSG so I bought a 10 ounce container. It's amazing how much more bi-polar they are compared with wasabi paste. Three times today I've teared up because after some seemingly random number of peas all the sudden it hits me.

It was probably a bad idea to have the peas be a main part of...

Dad and I got a lot of work done while he was here - e.g., now I can wash clothes at my house. That's the first time in 4 years I'm not a slave to quarter collecting. We did lots of gardening and landscaping but I'm rather certain most of my thoughts will be occupied by plants so I won't bore people with it now....

I had a good time going to Mae's and meeting some of the local SGers. It had been tough trying to meet anybody local online (no one is ever on chat), so the event was pretty much a make-or-break for my membership here. I'm definitely staying, unconditionally. Now if only I could figure out what to do about getting internet service at home. $55/month for...
