A WORD ABOUT FRIENDS
To look at my evolving friends list over the past few weeks one would think that I had suddenly become the most popular guy in the world. Unless you were a fellow SGer who understands that a friends list it there for... erm... well, what I plan to use it for... in fact what I used it for last week, is to nip round people's journals to see how they're doing and maybe leave a few words ona weekly basis. Just to kind of check in. I don't know whether there is supposed to be any more or less to the whole thing than this but that's my interpretation of it any way.
Maybe I shouldn't be so uptight about the whole business and just randomly run around adding friends because they said cool things on the boards or what have you but I don't call people my friends lightly. The fact of the matter is that all the people on that there list up there have proven themselves to be fucking ace in one respect or another at some time in the recent (or distant) past.
My stepmum once said that one of the things she liked about me was that I got so enthusiastic about things I liked right away. I don't think she was right entirely but it is true I will find the good in things and people very quickly. In addition I have an amazing memory for what I felt like in relation to something. So if I like you I like you end of story and no matter how much you may piss me off in future I will always come back to the fact that I like you. Some people get kind of wigged out (that one's for you 'tron
) by that fact but there it is.
Anyway, what I guess I'm saying is that No matter what the friends list means to anyone else to be in my friends list means that to my mind you are certainly good people for whatever reason.
In other news I've had a fairly good week on apersonal level, another one man show set at the stage of being workable on and a fucking brilliant picnic Saturday afternoon. You all get rare
for making my Saturday so pleasuable (I'm not a big virtual snogger).
This week I will be trying to cobble together my other One Man Show and trying not to spend any money (very very poor at present). Still it will help me to focus on my show.

Fantastic.
Friends lists? Oddly, mine is made of people I would consider to be 'friends'. Oh, okay, maybe a couple of them are more 'acquaintances'.
As to whether the London trip was worth it... hell yeah! Especially as they are thinking of doing an event in LA later this year to celebrate the opening of the new Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash... I probably would have gone to that but now I've had my bi-annual Smith-fix (2000, 2002 & 2004!) I can hopefully use some restraint and save my money!
Just out of curiosity what do you do in your one man show? Are you a stand-up comedian or is it something a bit more avant-garde?
