Right. I set up this journal and all the other stuff that goes with it a week ago. At the time I applied to join SGUK (cos I'm from the UK like it says) I downloaded the flyers because I know where to put them in my little town but a little voice in my head said 'stop'
And then it said 'Is this really the kind of thing you want to associate yourself with?'
Now I don't mean the pictures of naked women. I just wondered whether this was a worthwhile 'net community that happened to have pictures of naked women on it. I mean there are lots of free places to get pictures of naked women.
No, no I thought. I'm just being stupid. I'll just wait for the moderator of SGUK to accept me into the group and then I'll take a quick buzz through the group's journal archive and then I'll know that I need to print out the flyers on that coloured paper I knew I was keeping for something and it'll all be fine.
Except no one accepted me into anything...
Now I'm not saying you're all worthless freaks because they wouldn't let me into SGUK but why the hell won't they let me into SGUK? Apparently the cut of my jib is not to their liking. What am I supposed to do? Apply to start SGUKII? That seems like a very silly idea to me.
I'm starting to ask myself what's wrong with me that they won't let me into the club? Then it's only a short way to ask why am I paying to feel like a loser.
From there it's not too far to I'm outta here.

Well I've only just arrived in SG land this week myself, so difficult to comment much. It wouldn't surprise me if there's an element of cliquey-ness (is that a word?) I've encountered it before in regards to the local goth and LARP scenes. The recent posts on the thread in the 'hookup' board would suggest otherwise, but then this could be hasty apology tactics. As an outsider looking in, I'm up for joining any UK typ thing whether it be SGUKI or SGUKII or whatever. Maybe we should arrange for an non-SGUK UK type meet in London some time soon for the hell of it?
