watched a super depressing movie last night. Sarah brought over "Oasis" Korean film about 2 disabled people, their struggle with their familes and the romance that occurs between them, if you feel like being kicked in the gut multiple times this is the movie for you. what I took from it: East Asian society is ashamed of disabled people, they treat them like god's foul-ups, and don't assume disabled people's perception is any less than yours, it may be more acute.

but, Sarah, a whole other can of worms, back from buddhist monastery in So-Cal (not a freaky monastic hippy type) ultra intellect, philosophic and energetic. she confuses the shit out of me, sometimes she can seem so callous (too cool) other times she's helpless and crying over the state of the earth and its destruction. she likes to stretch when she's stoned, lotions her ass (not sure why) falls in and out of love in a second, our interests match up pretty well, but we disagree on many things musical, she can really pisses me off, but I can't pull myself completely away, wtf, I'm intrigued

she mentioned a 7 month old elephant in the room

that would be how she came into town, we had a blast, made a connect and she blew town for buddha, which was 7 months ago, she's back for grad school but she's a cereal monogamist, she'll be gone in a year and a half without batting an eye
jellibean:
east asian society might be ashamed of their disabled
but I would say we are not far behind here
people with disablitites are one of the most marginalized and overall ignored group of people in this country
and it bothers me to no end

and its always the intriguing ones
who break hearts
