Happy Independence Day All

I'm only a half an hour early, so I figured I'd type this up. I just want to say, that in spite of the fact that I disagree with the government's policies at the moment, that I am glad that I am an American citizen, and I'm glad to have been born at this place and time. I'm glad our Founding Fathers were able to create a form of government that has worked so well that America is now one of the largest powers and best places to live on the planet. At least for today, I would like everybody to remember the things we don't want to change in America. Look at the silver lining and not at our faults.

In other news, I'm planning on going to a sober party tomorrow at the house of a buddy of mine. It will be nice to see all the crazy rehab kids again. I was flattered to be invited, and I think it will be a good time. I'm making sure and taking some diet caffeine free pop, and probably a bag of chips or something, as I'm basically out of money. I was planning on getting a vegetable tray, but I had a senior moment while I was at the grocery store. Oh and I must bring CD's with me, can't forget that.

You'd be surprised, but alcoholics and addicts who have been sober for 3 to 10 years are just as insane as the local town drunk. We've had some fun times together, and we always swap stories when we get together. A few key figures are missing; either back to the bottle or just decided to get the heck out of Dayton and didn't keep in touch. Chad, the guy who is throwing the party, has kept in touch with me for a number of years that I haven't gone to AA or NA.

I guess that's it! Later.

Tim.

That's a great way to look at America. My journal entry might not convey it, but there are a number of reasons it's good to be here. Besides, sooner or later, I think the pendulum will start swinging the other way. Unfortunately, I often get the feeling that it will be later.
