Well I've been pretty sick and still am. I had a migraine last night, and I've got a headache hanging on today. I don't know what is really going on, but until I get my health insurance fixed, I can't find out. So, priority number one: Get health insurance fixed. Number two is to rest. And number three is to have a little fun, so...

I'm so sorry you're ill. I hope that improves soon.

Have I mentioned yet to you that you have fucking FANTASTIC taste?

Tony Levin is my best friend's dad. I've known the fam since I was in 3rd grade. He's a totally rocking guy, I adore him.

Well okay.

I had a fun weekend, which is basically over now. Friday I hung out with my brother, and Saturday Janie and I stayed up until morning talking. I got honest about the age difference, and she pointed out that if I don't want kids and don't want to support someone, I might not want a woman at all. And I really might not....

Alright, well here goes another update. Another lazy day, I think I'm overdoing it. Heard on the phone from an old friend from OF. I don't go there anymore hardly, but I've got alot of friends from there. Feeling like hanging out on the couch for a while, the only person in chat is AJ and he's about as talkative as a stone.

I...

Well I am going to bed now. The news is that today was a pretty good day. I saw lots of good sets, new Quinne discovered Al (I love wide hips) and also discovered DebraJean (I like hair). I talked to my good buddy Dave on the phone. No great news otherwise, I just sat at home and looked at SG sets.

Later,

Tim.
punknitemike:
well if ya want some good sets to check out, hit me up & i'll suggest some to ya!
madison:

Man, I was so sick today. I'm still aching, especially my head. Consequently, I've holed up in the house, and I'm a little down, I guess. But I was happy to discover India 's sets and check those out.

I drove Janie to a couple of errands earlier, but was so sick that I slept before and after and even in between. Normally I wouldn't...

I've heard of them, haven't heard any of their stuff yet though. Been meaning to check them out. Apparently they're getting pretty big. Good for them, because seriously, more people need to be escaping. biggrin

Alright, the big bad update on SG!

So I went to my very first punk show on Friday, which was really wild and crazy. A guy got up on stage and cut himself with a beer bottle, and generally the shit just went down. The Koffin Kats were excellent, their bass player is a badass. Legbone was also really, really good.

I met some people...

Hey everybody. Well, the new and improved Tim Lake is getting ready for bed, at right around the time he planned to be at Bento's. I hate being responsible, but I've got to get up tommorrow morning at like 6:30, and so there it is. And like I've told others I'm just tired of driving and I'm also broke.

Changed the metal hand sign pic...

i'll be at elbo's friday...make sure to be out there early to see legbone, those guys rock & are buddies of mine!

did you see Madison's new set w/ GWAR? i absolutely love that set...its another one of the BEST ones going up there with the newest Voltaire set!

as far as favorites go, i make it a point NOT to have any SGs in my favorites who i have met in person...so that rules out alot of the SGs i'd like to put up there...but this method works for me & i cant favor anybody which i like. plus i like my current favs too!
madison:
thanks again for checkin me out!

Alright. Well I just happened to watch some MTV yesterday, and I have to say that I'm appalled at what they peddle on the station. Its not news to anyone, but the crap they call "rock" on there is the most limp dick crap I've ever heard. The band I saw was Papa Roach. Ouch.

Trying some new bands. The Clash, The Soviettes, KMFDM. The...

holy shit, you actually know who The Soviettes are? ive actually been in touch w/ them & im trying to book them. where can i find their cd's? i have a good friend in minneapolis who used to manage them actually!
trees2112:
Yes, MTV has gone straight down the fucking drain. I'm surprised you actually saw music there. surreal

I'm pretty big on KMFDM. As far as I'm concerned, Symbols is their best album. As a matter of fact, it's ANYONE'S best album! I bought it on tape when it came out in 1996 (only a tape deck in the car). I played it so much that the tape eventually broke. So I found another one dirt-ass cheap, then progressed to the CD not too long ago. They also make a great way to pick up some Deutsch well beyond the textbook. Nihil is a great album too. I can't say I've heard Attak yet. And if it's one of the ones that was made after En Esch left, I'd bet it's not as good at all.

If you want something hardcore, I highly recommend the latest from Rammstein (It's called Reise, Reise). When I bought it a few weeks ago, I listened to Moskau and Amerika too many times to count. Those two tracks alone made the price worth it.

You might also enjoy Bauhaus. It's been a loooong time since I heard them, but a friend of mine from college loved them and we were listening to their stuff one night. (No, it wasn't a lucky one. She was gorgeous, too. Oh well).

Now.... who exactly are these Soviettes you speak of?

Well I've been gone a while. I will be at Elbo's on Friday, and I'm going to try to make Bento's in Columbus on Tuesday. It will be a lot of driving, with class and all that, but it should be fine.

I am feeling like a new person after being put on insulin this week. I have to shoot myself in the gut every...

Well after a rough night last night, I feel better again tonight.

Didn't do much today, treated myself to a good mexican meal, went to my brother's and listened to music, and then commented at livejournal, looked at some sets here. That's it, nothing exciting.

Now I think I'm off to the couch for a nap, and then I might come back, but most likely...

Hey everybody, I feel like a million bucks.

I finished a novel that was making me crazy and I realized that it wasn't that the novel was so realistic and grim, but that it was contrived and poorly finished.

Other than that, no news, getting A's in my Jewish Philosophy class, and looking for my next novel to read.

I hope everyone is doing well,...

Alright, so I saw a lot of nice sets today. The reason that I didn't comment on them is that I can't think of anything to say. I don't want to just post googly eyes or anything, and the adjective "beautiful" gets old after a while. I WILL comment on the sets, just give me some time to think of something intelligent to say.

Other...

Hmm... well Annee, I can't say I like Ashlee Simpson, but I've been known to listen to Nelly and Justiin Timberlake, or just about anything which is clever and has a dance groove.

I wouldn't call it "shitty music." I'd just call it commercial. Generally commercial music isn't all that often played in my CD player, I don't like all the glitz and heavy production.

Really, they can make anyone sound like they have a good voice, including the horribly talentless Britney Spears.

Anyway, I try not to be judgmental about that shit, but I think there is alot of better music out there... of course I tend to prefer screamo and scum punk, and of course, the stuff on my profile.

Mandrake? Sweet, I only know that it is one of the most supported of the Linux distros, in terms of I have seen all kinds of apps for it. And I know a couple of companies will install Mandrake on a build.

I want to be able to afford to build a killer Linux box and run something like Fedora Core 3 and fool around with it. My Mac has Unix (DarwinBSD) as its subsystem and I am slowly learning it. Very slowly. I would like to expand my command line ability.

Don't know Cisco. That's outside my realm.

Tim.

Thanks for your comments. Pissed off but positive is a good way to describe it I think.

It most certainly is hip to be square! I don't think I've ever lived any other way.

Streetspirit and I will do our best to show up at Bento, though I can't carve anything in stone right now. I don't know how the interview went, but I got the feeling that if I do get in, my schedule might suck ass.

We'll see what happens. Be it by Bento or other means, if we could meet up with you that would be great.

Take care, and thanks again!
