My best friend, the girl I've been in love with for quite some time, just got engaged.

I'm handling it better than I thought. Better to go to a good guy than to an arsehole like her last beau. I was just surprised at the speed by which it happened. They've been together for just a month. The worst part about it is, I found out through her ex a few days ago... and she just now told me.

I'll love again. Simple as that. A bitter pill though.

And to top the day off, my mother just cancelled my birthday celebration, which had already been rescheduled once.

Someone did an article on the fetish bar I go to recently... He was there on a night that I was there, and he referred to the 'portly gentleman with the long black hair' and how 'seeing his fat form get drenched in wax ruined my night and my supper'.

Ouch.

Seriously. I don't know what to tell you about the friend/love getting married to someone else. Some relationships happen, many don't.
About your birthday, that sucks too. I don't celebrate my birthdays really anymore, in any case. Easier not to.
The third issue, however...
Lets ask ourselves a few questions..
Did you enjoy yourself?
Did the people participating with you enjoy themselves?
And finaly, should the remarks of some numbnuts writer (and they are almost invariably all numbnuts) really matter to you?
You enjoyed yourself, it's all good.
