My birthdate keeps changing itself. confused

For the record, whatever my bloody details say, it is December 15th. Not 16th, 19th, 20th, whatever

I just looked at mine and it had done the same!
it took 4 attempts to get it back to the right date.
mad
I'm going to keep an eye on that sneaky sucker.
biggrin
d_no:
I've noticed that happening to mine too, I correct it, but it won't save it. mad

Happy Birthday for the 15th. biggrin

Someone at work today said to me, out of the blue, "four candles", I said no "fork 'andles". surreal

Nothing happened today.

Well my ISP's email upgrades have dealt with that fucking spam (for now). It was effective before: almost all went straiight into my 'spam' folder, but now ..... nothing at all. They intercept the lot. I'm just a bit worried that some mail I might want gets intercepted by accident. As I don't get any of the filtered mail now I can't...

Rant, while I think of more 'journally' stuff to post.
I saw something in the papers this morning that made me so bloody angry. A young girl recovering from cancer has had her newly grown hair set on fire by what was charitably described as a 'bully'. Vermin would be a more apt description. I guess 'it' will get a light sentence, particularly as the...

absolutely mad
i also heard a report that made me feel sick
a young girl also recovering from cancer or maybe lukemia was spat on and called a freak by around 30 or so other students
they should've all been expelled instantly, there should be no excuse for such abhorent ignorance
and it was a good call when that head (at another school) suspended 40 pupils the other week over the bullying that was caught on cctv

whatever what can you do ?
it's kind of a double edge sword
there's this paranoia parents have regarding their kids
(in some cases, rightly so - but mostly caused by frenzied media)
and then you have the increadibly calous vindictive actions of kids that shock and apaul us all like what we've just been talking about
hopefully suspending 40 kids send out a no compromise stance on bullying, you can't expect every child to suddenly become the hero but they should be encouraged to go get help, not just stand and watch
i think it's ileagal in Sweden or it might be you have to help a policeman if they're in trouble ?

I need cheese. Real cheese. Like a v. mature camembert that oozes out of the box & absorbs the kitchen roll next to it.

I forgot my parents' wedding anniversary last week. I'm a cunt.

I didn't choose to be there today - I had a garden to attend to (a friend's brother, i wouldn't go that far otherwise) - but Twickenham on a match...

And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
- Eric Bogle

Now when I was a young man I carried me pack
And I lived the free life of the rover.
From the Murray's green basin to the dusty outback,
Well, I waltzed my Matilda all over.
Then in 1915, my country said, "Son,
It's time you stop ramblin', there's work to be done."
So they gave...

Bugger. Now I forgot what I was going to do. confused And FUCK this fucking fucked (Cr)Apple keyboard with it's barely responsive shift keys! Gaaargh! mad (Adds to wishlist)

I've heard that a new range of yogurts are being introduced, targeted specifically at chavs: Muller 'Street Corners'.

(Puts on 'Back in Black' at a discrete volume: just loud enough to make things fall off the wardrobe.)

Hello there. I'm not around much at the moment but I just popped in. I don't wish to interrupt someone else's dialogue but I see from a comment above that Albion is discussing the mighty Half Man Half Biscuit.

They are indeed still going. But Cammel Laird Social Club is more recent than Trouble Over Bridgwater.

Both are great though. My favourite of their later albums is Voyage To The Bottom Of The Road. (Skip track 1 maybe but from then on it's a joy)

I suppose I should update my journal ......

Had a good night last night - well a good weekend, tho' hasn't finished yet ...hope I haven't spoke too soon? Last night: fireworks at Ally Pally & then back down the piccadilly line to see Gin Panic. The fireworks were fantastic & went on for ages. When the biggest star shells went off you could feel...

The lost weekend. Wherever did it go?? confused

I haven't done that for years. So I'm not past it yet then.
Whatever it was biggrin

Old joke corner ....

.... So this lady goes into a chemist and asks: "Do you have cotton wool balls?"

Guy behind counter: "What do you think I am - a fucking teddy bear?"

The weekend at last. Thank heavens smile

I was unexpectedly busy last week & got hardly any time online. I just about had time to read the threads & add a couple of comments most mornings but that was about it. Even though if I don't work I don't get paid I got quite resentful about my lack of 'quality time' browsing & reading the threads...

Har har har - you're only jealous because you don't have yerself as a mate biggrin

Dunno what was happening last night exactly but there's been a but too much argy bargy round these parts lately and it's pissing me off to be honest. Hopefully there'll be an end to it soon.

My mate's band 'The Sundowns' do an alt-country cover version of Teenage Kicks - it's not actually too bad smile

See ya tonight.

Rather late in the day, but R.I.P. John. You were taken far too early.

such a shame
i don't mean to sound selfish, but as soon as i had a cd done that i was really happy with i was gonna send it straight to him.
for a lot of people i know he represented a positive side to the mass media and was genuinly interested in original talent.
i think independant music lost something yesterday, i have this bad feeling that whilst the bbc still broadcasted him, they're unlikely to replace him with someone who will play the same diverse sounds as he did frown
