Anyone else like Burt Bacharach, or Bacharach/David, songs?
I am probably talking to the over 30's here.
I have loads of other favourite composers as well, such as Lennon-MrCartney, but most of his/their songs are so hummable I can't help it whenever I hear one.

Who is your favourite composer or composers?
More then one is allowed.

Given my finances, my next purchase will be strings!!!

Finland rules. If it wasn't for the 6 month penumbra and the -30 temperatures, i would have moved there a long time ago. Tampere is so awesome, dunno if you've been there?

I finally dipped my toe into eBay last night. I was after a Nikon film scanner. I thought I was doing the right thing by holding my bid till the last few minutes. Obviously I still have some way to go. My bid (160) was home until about 30 seconds remained, when it was topped. I tried to raise mine to 170 but ran out...

I've got a podXT whichis great, but with the footcontroller is a bit big to drag around just to use for delay and wah.
I'm probably gonna switch to pedal for live and use the pod at home.
robsilver:
Live my "sound" is the marshall, I only use the pod as an effect unit now.

I couldn't recomend the podxt highly enough, they are brilliant, and you can get free downloads for it from line6.com so it has even more stuff.

I found the sound from the pod would vary a lot depending on what PA it was DI'd through live, but at home or in rehearsal it was 110% fantastic!

In future I forbid myself from logging on here 'to catch up' just before I should be leaving the house. I will still be here an hour later. frown

Sunday edit. Fuck. So, yeah: I didn't spend the afternoon on SG.
I spent it on eBay. blush
Oh. Wait. I sent an email to a friend too. That's alright then; for a time I thought I was...

Heheh well seeing as it's partly for the boy's benefit but he doesnt seem remotely interested! I have this really large bookshelf thing and I suddenly had the revelation that it could probably fit in my bedroom therefore freeing up some space in my teensy living room. Not exciting, but it was a revelation nonetheless! tongue

yeah, i think i'll give the drugs a rest for a while. i'm exhausted from them!

wildlife photo exhibit sounds cool. maybe i'll try to get out there to see it. i used to go to an exhibit every weekend, but then i just started to not be able to find the time (i was busy everyday of the week and i worked sat too), or be too exhausted by the time sunday came.

its nice to be catching up with friends. have fun! smile

I'm awaiting a call from my formerly Amsterdam-based friend, currently working in Darfur, who leaves Heathrow tonight for her (I hope) final 4 months out there. I haven't seen her in over a year and she is mostly unable to email whilst there so we have catching-up to do, and a visit to the wildlife photographer exhibition. No doubt coffee and expensive cakes will also...

I got a consolidation loan yesterday, Yay! smile smile
Now I can pay off most of my debts, get a couple of bits of machinery for my gardening work and will be only months away from being able to tell the grasping, amoral parasites at Lloyds TSB to shove their fucking credit card up their arse.

My appointment re the loan yesterday morning prevented me from joining...
