I finally dipped my toe into eBay last night. I was after a Nikon film scanner. I thought I was doing the right thing by holding my bid till the last few minutes. Obviously I still have some way to go. My bid (160) was home until about 30 seconds remained, when it was topped. I tried to raise mine to 170 but ran out of time.
I now find that the guy who won is bidding for seemingly almost every Nikon Coolscan put up for auction.
I know I can't expect a dealer to think other than in business terms & he's not breaking the law but I WANTED IT FOR MYSELF, NOT THE PROFIT MARGIN YOU CUNT! mad
I'm going to have to do battle with him again for 3 of the next 4 on offer as well. frown

Edit ...... I just happened to see that Satriani'sSurfing with the Alien was just closing & idly bid for it.
Ok I did want it but not as much as a film scanner. However, a film scanner can't do amazing tapped licks biggrin

Double edit .... I've just eaten a whole packet of biscuits.

I've got a podXT whichis great, but with the footcontroller is a bit big to drag around just to use for delay and wah.
I'm probably gonna switch to pedal for live and use the pod at home.

Live my "sound" is the marshall, I only use the pod as an effect unit now.

I couldn't recomend the podxt highly enough, they are brilliant, and you can get free downloads for it from line6.com so it has even more stuff.

I found the sound from the pod would vary a lot depending on what PA it was DI'd through live, but at home or in rehearsal it was 110% fantastic!
