For the last few days I've felt really down. I don't know why that is but my cold isn't helping; three of us in this diseased house have got it now. It's all Megan's bloody fault! Even splashing out way too much money on a digital camera hasn't done much to lift my mood (though it may improve when it arrives & I can start playing with it - prepare for an avalanche of crap pictures folks). I am sure my sombre mood has affected my output of posts & comments - normally I can turn stuff out effortlessly, even if it's rubbish, but at the moment I can barely motivate myself & what I do send seems as dreary as I feel. But it's time I did a new journal. 
I had another ridiculous acciodent on Thursday evening. The woman who lived at the house I was working at went to the shops shortly before i left, so as I came in from the garden I pulled the back door to lock it. The handle came away in my hand, I fell backwards & hit my head on the coffee table.
I'm there flat out on the floor, holding my head & her dog, a mournful-looking bloodhound, peers down at me from a nearby chair as if to say "are you alright"
Then I looked at my hand, which was covered in blood.
"Oh. Shit."
I got my phone out & was about to call my client when she returned. No handle on the back door and a gardener with a bleeding head standing in the middle of the room.
Of course she was more concerned about me than her door but she had only been gone ten minutes! She must have thought "what the hell.......?"
She cleaned up my cut, dressed it & offerd to drive me to hospital but I felt fine (apart from the soreness) so she just drove me home.
When I hit my head it was nothing like the bang i got from that branch, but Iknow the symptoms of concussion now so I wouldn't have hesitated to go up there if i had got ill (other than this bloody cold) later.
Perhaps I should give up gardening for a career as a slapstick comedian.
(thur night update) Going to Leicester for weekend to visit my folks.
