I woke up on Sunday morning with an idea for a poem. I dont know where the hell it came from but it was practically like taking dictation. I've made a few tweaks since & might make a few more but it seems to be ok. - Its based on a famous poem - by Robert Burns I think ...?


At a used car fair

Its nah to the blues
Its nah to the reds
Its nah to the pink ones
Cos you wouldnt be seen dead ....

Its nah to the ivory
Its nah to the green
Its nah to the midnight
(I agree: best left unseen)

Its nah to the eggshells
Its nah to the cools
Its nah to the hot tones
(Im scratching my bools)

Its nah to the Chrysler
Its nah to the Ford
Its nah to the Seat
What DO you want, hon, Im getting bored

Its nah to the racing trim
Its nah to the chrome
Its nah to the headrest
Cos theres not enough foam

Its nah to this wing mirror
And Its nah to that bonnet
And its nah to the others roof
(A birds done a splat on it)

Its nah to the metallics
Its nah to the plain
Its nah to the blue ones
(Yes, were back there again).

Its I think not to the hatch backs
And no-ho to the Ghia
-Well you fucking go round again then,love,
Im off to the tent for a beer.
