The night after Christmas.
Asleep.
Safe.
Comfortable.
In a distant place the Earth shrugged.

I don't know whether to be worried or not yet: I have a friend in Australia & another in New Zealand who may possibly have spent Christmas in the region the tsunami hit. One isn't due back to work till the 11th and the other is on a year out and...

she flew on xmas morning, early hrs i think and was planning to go to Madras, the east coast of India that was hit
but luckily they were larging it in Milan after an interconecting flight
but it's very frustrating, i don't know her surname, no e-mail so couldn't find out till i got in contact with her boyfriends work

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

How is everyone's head today
It was a great night last night, with some great people, in a great pub - which wasn't excessively crowded ; it's nice to be able to move around without a lot of bumping & shoving. I got home about 2.45am, slightly pissed and completely knackered.
Today has been quiet so far, which suits me. Hope I...

I've just drunk half a bottle of sickly-sweet ginger wine and eaten a 100g bar of Lindt Macadamia nut chocolate. My teeth are going to hell. Not to mention my cholesterol level. Tomorrow I'm off to, not hell - Leicester, till the 28th. If you're reading this and I haven't left a comment on your own page, have a great Christmas & (if necessary )...

The weekend .....

Saturday, a half-hearted attempt at Christmas shopping. Had planned on going to Kingston but decided to go to Guildford instead.
I love that town, especially at Christmas. Bought one item (I actually bought two gifts but I fancied having one of them myself ARRR!!! ). Had a very sticky cake in a coffee shop, made a phone call and made my phone sticky...

The weekend; The cheap Aussie red wine I bought earlier: 'Williams Grove' (2.66 from Morrisons) is the business. Absolutely delicious. No I'm not out this evening.

Earlier in the week I ordered 6 packets of tea from a supplier in the U.S, which I could have probably got in London. I really know how to fuckin' live. Go me. whatever

biggrin

Sunday ......
a pretty good day...

confused well, i use mozilla 1.7, and it didn't seem to change with this update, but then I might have changed it automatically.
i'll check on my next update.
Your room sounds like my whole house..I am such a hoarder. blush but I am being very firm with myself this year and gradually throwing things out , or finding better places to store them, so gradually my house is starting to get some space.
Good luck with the bed hunting.
biggrin

Happy Birthday for the 15th. biggrin

Someone at work today said to me, out of the blue, "four candles", I said no "fork 'andles". surreal

Nothing happened today.

Well my ISP's email upgrades have dealt with that fucking spam (for now). It was effective before: almost all went straiight into my 'spam' folder, but now ..... nothing at all. They intercept the lot. I'm just a bit worried that some mail I might want gets intercepted by accident. As I don't get any of the filtered mail now I can't...

Rant, while I think of more 'journally' stuff to post.
I saw something in the papers this morning that made me so bloody angry. A young girl recovering from cancer has had her newly grown hair set on fire by what was charitably described as a 'bully'. Vermin would be a more apt description. I guess 'it' will get a light sentence, particularly as the...

absolutely mad
i also heard a report that made me feel sick
a young girl also recovering from cancer or maybe lukemia was spat on and called a freak by around 30 or so other students
they should've all been expelled instantly, there should be no excuse for such abhorent ignorance
and it was a good call when that head (at another school) suspended 40 pupils the other week over the bullying that was caught on cctv

whatever what can you do ?
it's kind of a double edge sword
there's this paranoia parents have regarding their kids
(in some cases, rightly so - but mostly caused by frenzied media)
and then you have the increadibly calous vindictive actions of kids that shock and apaul us all like what we've just been talking about
hopefully suspending 40 kids send out a no compromise stance on bullying, you can't expect every child to suddenly become the hero but they should be encouraged to go get help, not just stand and watch
i think it's ileagal in Sweden or it might be you have to help a policeman if they're in trouble ?

I need cheese. Real cheese. Like a v. mature camembert that oozes out of the box & absorbs the kitchen roll next to it.

I forgot my parents' wedding anniversary last week. I'm a cunt.

I didn't choose to be there today - I had a garden to attend to (a friend's brother, i wouldn't go that far otherwise) - but Twickenham on a match...
