Saturday, Jane's Addiction playing, dog asleep on the bed, nobody home and it's raining.
So yesterday at work was fun, in a group bonding kind of way. It was our annual team building event and it actually turned out to be fun. We started the day painting and moved onto creating our own version of the Wizard of Oz only compressed into 5 minutes. That in itself was by far the best bit of the day. Wrapping Jane up in tin foil to make her the tin man without copping a feel proved hilarious and had us both in hysterics. Still , one roll of tin foil later and we had the sexiest tin man ever to need a heart.
The day threw me a few encounters with Sara and I unfortunately reverted to my quiet shy self. Barely spoke to her all day, if at all, despite standing next to her alone at the bar during part of the painting exercise. I am truly pathetic. At the end of the days events we found ourselves back at the bar and I still could not bring myself to go and talk to her, too many people around, mind you that seems to be an excuse in retrospect. If I can't talk to her alone and I can't talk to her in a bar full of people then I guess I am screwed. Mind you while talking with fellow designer and one of the new girls I found Sara and Sophie huddled together talking, looking in my direction and turning away when I caught their eyes.
The day for me ended about an hour after that. I talked with a few more colleagues, one group insisting on getting the dirty on my many piercings and tattoos and at one point Lena had my t-shirt off while she examined in detail. As a non drinker and tied to public transport I said my good nights and heading home only stopping to thank Marisa our HR girl for the day and trying to find out when Sara was born so I could work out her star sign. In retrospect not a good move seeing as Marisa is friends with Sara and was slightly drunk. Still lets see what Monday brings.
On the plus side I get my car back in a few weeks now that we have a final paint colour. Jaguar chilli pearl red. I can't wait, freedom and a cool ride awaits. Beyond that, pay for the resto and work out where my life is heading. My heart still wants to be in Vancouver but it's being distracted by an amazing girl and a job that is really amazing. The bind here is my best friend and her son (she's in my profile pic) are out there and life seems dull without them.
Right, time to do something with the day....
