(this entry is from yesterday but i didn't get around to posting till today)
okay, so i had to work today and i feel it is the start of my birthday week. i am tired and hungry to begin with so i get home and shave my head and shower. beard still going strong and in full command of the situation. i hit up the video store with the intention of renting "shaun of the dead" again and to find "jem and the holograms" season one and two for kiva. i pass on the movie remembering i just got the scrubs season one dvd and that will keep me happy for a few. the jem dvd i had to order and who knows when that will come in. head feeling better (phyically and emotionally) i put myself in a pair of pinstriped pants, tie up my campers and don my Mirah shirt and out the door i go. traffic was smooth all the way up but i could see the build up going south right after buda. i pass on a meal at my usual haunts in favor of just picking out a new one (bad mistake...more later). so i stop at the new whole foods and pick up some new drinks to try out, some mini canolli's, and some other sweets to tempt my ever corrupt diet. i skip waterloo and bookpeople sensing nothing new i need immediately. off i go to indie pop gelato to see if evangelina is there and to snatch up some almond gelato. missed evangelina by about twenty minutes but heft up a pint of the almond and had a nice chat with the lady behind the counter about murakami. ventured over to a few restuarants but none struck my fancy so i stopped by the wok of fire or some shit and picked up some kung pao (sp?) and hot and sour soup. both terrible and just plain appetite destroying i must find another source of nourishment...this is feed by my xbox live and a halo 2 with my brother-in-law and his brother and his friend from out of town. we get our asses royally handed to us but with dignity...if there is any playing against 8-12 years olds. now i am typing this out and wondering if taking my soma will help me sleep and rest my back a bit. just got off the phone with kiva and was going to try to find lara again but will try tomorrow. going to finish up some mixes and read some new comics i just got. not the most exciting start of birthday week but if i don't find someone to hang out with tomorrow i am going to try to catch the homestarrunner show at the drafthouse downtown. missed melt banana tonight but completely okay with that. okay, one more canolli and i am done until i finish off the last one a few minutes after this one.
oh, star wars isn't that bad. lucas can't write dialogue for shit but he actually delivers a fitting closure to the series. Hayden Christensen proves that he is still at terrible actor and for some unknown reason ms. portman brings out her innner crap artist at padme. best performances go to ewan and mr. jackson. good movie and i got to see the war of the worlds trailer. plus i can't wait for "v is for vendetta" one of my favorite alan moore stories makes the big screen and can't be as bad as "league of extraordinary gentlemen"
so now i bid you adieu and hope this night finds you with canolli's of your own...if not, we should hang out and share the last one...i am quite generous when it comes to company.
not really a bad day but one that would have been nice to share with someone i consider worthwhile or willing to move up to that position.
