i wrote this saturday night/sunday morning in my lj.. i wanted to post it here as well..

and.. tonight.. i went out to dissent.. now.. some may find that callous.. the day you bury a relative you still go out clubbing.. but.. see.. i realized why i was there and i had to be there tonight especially..


i dance to forget... to forget loneliness.. to forget money troubles.. to forget car problems.. to forget where i work.. to forget all the bad things in life.. there's such beauty in oblivion.. nothing to me is more peaceful and closing your eyes and simply moving with the pulsating beats.. the strobes and other light effects all showing as muted flashes of red from within your eyelids.. while on the dance floor.. you're never alone.. the other people out there.. even if you don't speak. or even make eye contact.. our sheer presence together communicates acceptance.. yes.. we all belong together out here.. this is ours and this is what we do.. and.. even when no one else is out there with you.. i simply close my eyes and surround myself with the music.. everything is beautiful with your eyes closed.

I wanted just plain Rowan because it sounded like an actual name, instead of a nick. It felt more comfortable, and less fake to me. I know. I'm weird. Plus someone else has it already. Thanks, though.
