Today, I went to the rare book room at Powell's, and I saw something that made my entire body shake with yearning.
One of the only 956 copies in existence of Austin Osman Spare's The Witches Sabbath, compleat with Mr. Spare's artwork and an official number.
I can't afford to spend three hundred dollars on it. But I almost did, as AOS' works are incrredibly hard to find and incredibly thrilling and bizarre to read. He was fucking crazy/brilliant/hilarious.
It was like staring Greed and Lust and Erudition in the face and having them reply with, "Fuck you, shorty!"
God DAMN it.
