Well I sure did enjoy my weekend, but it's always over too quickly. McK and I didn't do much on Friday night, I didn't get to his till about 9.30. Saturday we got up later than we should and went off to Birmingham for his band practice (ear plugs + crappy women's weeklies "I married my own son, shocker" = tolerable punk band practice ) then off into the town for some EXTORTIONATE parking charges (60p per 20 minutes?! What. the. fuck!!) and general bumming round town..

Trip to collect drum stuff, back to the skankiest venue of all time and watch my lovely boy's band playing, first I might add, which was very silly. Especially since people started leaving after about the 3rd band. The lovely AlwaysBeingBlue arrived, sadly near the end of King Monkey's set, but never mind. There's always next time. We were sitting down when we started to hear another band starting and ABB said "oh no they're covering The Used" otr words to that effect. It was strange as we thought "Well the drummer is quite obviously shit, but the rest of the band are really accurately covering various bands", and "wow, that singer has an adptable voice". Turned out it was a 12 year old kid drumming along (BADLY) to a backing track. Well, great. It was the promoter's son too, on about 2nd to last. What a crock of shit!

Anyway, we returned late and ate some tasty leftovers with McK's slightly sozzled parents () and went to bed.

Sunday we had a nice lie in, sauntered up to town for a tasty and extremely bargainacious lunch at Waitrose. The rest of the day consisted of tea, comics, and a really lovely dinner before I set off home, WITHOUT my makeup remover and electric tooth brush, but WITH all of McK's drum stuff still in my boot.

I miss him already! But I hope everyone else had an awesome weekend and an even better week. I can't wait till Friday now!
