This past weekend, after what seemed like an eternity of waiting, I was fortunate enough to attend a Denver shootfest with a group of incredibly gorgeous women and very talented photographers. Only having done one set and not being very good in front of the camera, I found myself very nervous to meet everyone. I knew that no matter what happened I would have a good time since I was with my amazing friend @roz . We have been friends for 5 years now and I'm so thankful that we get to spend time together..even if it is only a couple of days a few times a year. :)
As Roz and I arrived to this ultra swanky loft right in the middle of Denver, we were greeted by the adorable @prongs and @losuicide . Oh my goodness gracious, these ladies...gorgeous, cute, funny..just so awesome. Prongs only had the day and evening to hang out but I enjoyed every minute. Her shoot was so much fun to watch and let me tell you, that girl makes a bathtub look good! I have to say, I am super excited that Lo only lives an hour away from me because I have a major girl crush on her, just a fun loving babe! :)
Soon after our arrival the incredibly sexy and vivacious @zephyrine and amazing photographer @jadamsphoto joined us. That girl can light a room up quick with her infectious energy. Watching her shoots was like watching magic....sexy, sexy magic. She is also so super sweet and a wearer of many hats, as she so aptly put it. :) She makes a great cocktail and does come kick-ass makeup! She even helped me try to figure out how to pose because that is just not my thing.
After some set shooting, some smoking and a little cocktail action we were all more than ready for food! We found ourselves at a pizza place and as we finished stuffing our faces with some yummy pizza, @miss_minnie joined us. This girl, guys, seriously. Tattoos, piercing, eyes, hair...this girl just has it all. I was so excited to be able to watch her shoot her set.. like all the other girls she just worked the camera with such ease. All I could do was walk away after a minute because I was getting the fevah! All sorts of verclempt.
The weekend was filled with pizza (big shout out to Minnie for bringing those amazing pizzas from her store!), burgers and this sex filled, I'm sorry, Nutella filled pizza that I'm pretty sure made Roz orgasm right at the table. I think there was a veggie and fruit tray in there but junk food ultimately won...oh and COOKIES! Made by the ultra sexy duo that was @chefbeth and Lo.
I digress....
Sunday rolls its head way too early (because moms can't sleep past 6 AM) and we get right to shooting...well, there was some coffee in there..Minnie helped out while Roz had to work way too hard to tell me what to do with myself...and it was so cold but yay for shooting outside! All in all, it went great and I think I finally got into a little bit of a groove towards the end...a little more comfy if you will. As the morning progressed we were joined by the fantastic @ellum and chef_beth. Ellum is so easy to talk to and we just chatted on while all sorts of fun continued around the house...I was so over stimulated by this point I lost track of all the events going on in the various rooms of this loft. I also couldn't help but drool all over her Alex Grey and Lateralus tattoos...hubba hubba. Chef is just as fantastic as I thought she would be by talking to her online. Plus she made cookies and they were amazing...cookies equal love.
All in all, a memorable weekend. That really is an understatement though. Usually when women are around other women, there is a thick fog of bitchy, judgemental vibes. Not the case with this beautiful group. Unique in our own ways but so similar in our lighthearted attitudes and fun natures. I am so grateful to have been a part of this and meet these fantastic women. I cannot wait for you all to see all of the amazing sets that were shot and to those lovely ladies, I cannot wait to hang out again in the future!
