So I woke up this morning and came down stairs and was feeling I needed a little something extra to boost my spirits. I went onto youtube and found my fingers typing in "Singing in the Rain". I watched "Good Morning", "Make them Laugh" and of course "Singing in the Rain". I realized how awesome this musical is, all the talented dancing and singing. If you have not seen it then it is a must watch, yes it was made in 1952 but it is worth it and yes it is in color. Gene Kelly is an amazing and very talented performer, just a little information to help you understand just how talented he was I ask that you go to youtube and watch him in "Singing in the Rain" clip. I want you watch how he dances and singings in the heavy rain. Now what you might not notice cause he is that good is that he did this whole scene in one take. He had a fever of 103 and still manages to do the scene flawlessly all in one take and you would never have known he was very sick.
Donald O'Connor in "Make them Laugh" if you watch it you will see very high energy and old school comedy. He was not sick but after filming this segment he had to be hospitalized for burns and exhaustion, if you watch the clip you know what I mean.
I feel this is probably my favorite musical because it has epic dancing with some songs that has become part of our lives. I will link the clips but I encourage you to watch them and maybe it will spark something to get you to watch the entire movie.
These days it seems that movies have to be put on hold because one of the A listers hurt their finger and can not perform or they get a cold. I am not saying that is all actors but a lot of them are very selfish and do it just for the money or fame. These actors you could see did it for the passion of dancing and singing, even when they should have been in the hospital they wanted to finish what they started and enjoyed doing it for their fans.
