I hate Fridays and reading everyone Thank god its friday lol.
To explain a little more detailed so you can understand why I said that. My job as a Combat Arms instructor, we have to take people to the firing range to qualify them. Our firing range has been under maintenance for almost 2 years now. So we have had to use a range that is about 2 hours by bus ride, The only day that Catm shop gave us was Saturday. We can not fire on Sunday because it is a day of rest in Germany and it is now allowed. A few months ago we had so many people deploying that we had to do a 2 rifle relay day on top of a pistol relay.
A pistol relay only takes about an hour or a little more to fire so that doesnt take up too much time. Also you have to factor in it takes about 30-45 minutes for all the shooters to get all their required gear, targets and load their magazines with amunition. So on top of firing that is about 2 hours just for M9 firing.
To get ready for the rifle portion takes about 45 minutes to an hour because they fire so much amunition and have to load each magazine differently and some people are slower then others when it comes to loading. Once we start the relay the whole course of fire takes about 4 hours to fire and that is one a good day, factor in 20 minutes for lunch we are looking at almost 5-5 1/2 hours if not 6 hours just for one relay of rifle. a few months back we had two rifle relays so that makes for a very long day and dont forget the 2 hour bus ride back.... then the shooters have to clean while we do the paper work which is another hour. So during a two relay day we left our base at 5am and we got back around 8 or 9 pm and back home somwhere between 11-12 pm.
Now we only have one pistol and one rifle relay so the day is a little bit shorter depending on the speed of the shooters but we still leave our base at 7am and we get back around 3-4pm and finally home around 5 or 6. So as you can see my work day is longer on Saturday then any other day of the week, and the most stressful.
So I hate fridays lol, but I am glad that everyone is happy today and excited for the weekend to come. I will be happy Saturday when I step through my doorway and take my uniform off hahaha.
