So is it wrong to have the mind set to hate everybody until they give you a reason not to?

I mean back in the day it used to be trust people until they give you a reason not to...... but with how kids are being raised it seems to be going the opposite direction and people end up constantly lying and backstabbing you.

So is it wrong to have that mind set, distrust people and keep them at a distance until they show you they can be trusted?
