Getting someone to look *really* like wood would be complex. The joints, mostly. They'd either need to be airbrushed or 3-D rendered. And considering how complex a texture wood is, I'd lean toward 3-D rendering to preserve sanity.

You'd also probably have to render the texture for placement over the person's body on a similarly shaped mesh. You might be able to use something like poser for this.
