FINALLY decided that after a week of 15 hr days it was about time for me to blow off some steam in my beloved NYC for pizza, Guinness, coffee and rampant partying like a rock star.

Love and puppies to all.

wow definitely a weird kinda day. i mean, you wake up, you realize you want to stay in bed, and instead you NARROWLY avoid freaking out via road rage and are all cranky. so, having the emotional range of an infant when it comes to food (cranky OR euphoric) you go for a BK breakfast that is horrible but wonderful (best kind) and nurse some black coffee while overlooking a campus on the 3rd floor of a 6' square window.

if only i had a paintball gun....

this is really wild. it's great to see SG explode, but at the same time i feel like the more effort it takes to keep riding the wave and keeping up with journals, etc, the less time i have to put into upkeep. ack.

Thanks... but all to often I am a walking case of too little too late... But to give myself a little credit, I haven't really yet met too many people who weren't - most likely tho' I would have to be run over by one before recognizing them as such...

*smile*
girlcatx:
i hear that... i'm completely distracted as of late. it's hard enough to dress myself, much less read small print and answer stuff... although i like it, i just get distracted midsentence, end up wandering the house thinking i have something else to do.

whoa. phew. long time no log. must fix this.

the reading of my screenplay went well - people showed to watch and the actors did a great job. all told very happy. my writing partner and i then busted ass to complete draft 2. all told we're pretty happy with it. we'll see what happens

okay can we just talk about my oral fixation for a minute? i mean my god! i can't get through the day without a toothpic or lollipop in my mouth, actively being destroyed. and i realized as i'm gnawing on wood shards (what's left of my LAST toothpic) that i must have an oral thingie. i swear i could do pushups with my tongue at...

SE Asia most of it in Thailand (awsome picts of the trip

it is really really cheap to live. I don't know about making money,

I just attended a seminar given my one of our faculty, who served on the 9/11 investigation panel. He described in detail how the Towers were built, as well as how and why they collapsed.

Seeing the pictures, the people, and hearing about what the conditions were like inside the buildings... I'm so angry right now. I'm told you can't let the terrorists win by...

Sorry you're angry . This is all a tough issue for sure. I don't want to precipitate
the another post thingy, but I can't help but think that the complexities of the
politics and history of the region should make us step back an think hard about
what in the larger sense needs to be done.

Btw. I thought I read in ?Science? that if the insulation in the towers would have been thicker that they wouldn't have collapsed at all. Did ihe talk about that any ?

[Edited on Feb 07, 2003]
wisp:
Hmm... I really think I remeber the article saying some new paper was published
that said that the towers wouldn't have collapsed this time if the insulating
was thicker. I believed that apart from all the heat from the fuel, the towers
readily withstood the impact. Anyway don't mean to nitpick over this.

*sigh*

okay its been a while since i've done the posty thingie.

let's just say that i've learned NOT to trust a goddamn person when it comes to my project. everyone who's 'helped' (we're talking profesional engineers) have been wrong. so i'm doing it my way and everyone else can kiss my ass. skull

also, never say out loud "hey look at me i'm making progress" even...

i learned in Organic chem to never brag about how precisely i weighed something becasue invariably someone in the next room would fart and my .00000002 gram sample would fly away

Aaaahhh Yes the demons of air and gance.... Thanks I'm sure that any bruises
you sport in photographed form would be appreciated..

I luv the "profesional" adjective you are applying - when was getting paid for
something at some point _ever_ a vote for competancy ?!

Okay.

I'm sitting here. In the lab. I have to make a decision by tomorrow: do I say on for a PhD in a field that will make me well-rounded but not that interesting by iteself? or do I leave with my MS and take my chances doing something that really just strikes a chord with me?

Or I could just leave it alltogether and...

OMG i so wanna see u in the rapunzel wig!!! you would look sexy

on another note..it is somber here in houston since the Challeger crash since houston is the control center for the space missions...everyone here knows at least someone at NASA and they all feel like thye lost a family member...it is horrible...my ex is outside of dallas and they heard the bang....it was loud apparently..they didnt see anything tho...it is a sad scene here...memorials everywhere
girlcatx:
sooo. what did you decide, smartypants?

Well here I am in the lab. Yet another morning of fun. It's amazing how the more parts/components to a system, the chances for somethign to go wrong increases exponentially. The crazy thing is I really love this stuff, and don't seem to mind doing the 7 days a week thing. There are too many questions being asked/answered right now in this field and others...

Ahhh the lovely lab. I am so pretty much happy burrowing into my work - and I am starting to even get more direction to it! YES!!!

Congrats on the script writing ! Any hints on what it is about ?
grrlhavoc:
yeah pharmacy work can be difficult...esp when the customers think you are nothing but a minimum wage-making clerk who knows nothing about drugs and insurance claims

okay.

first, i believed in love-at-first-sight: you can meet someone and know right away that wham that's the person for you.

next i didn't believe that was possible. infatuation, yes, actual true love, no.

now i have no fucking clue. so i'm just keeping that one wide open.

nobody ever chooses me to be eaten first usually either. i was surprised that throatneedle did. i used to get in big arguments with my friends about why i'm a good choice. but, no, not you. you're the macguyver! you have to stay. and if you are ever kidnapped by bad guys, i hope they lock you in a supply closet.

Oh my... 15 hour days.... And weekends are long since lost to you.
