Hey guys. The boy and I are planning on heading up to NYC in July for my big 30th birthday. I have been once before but he hasn't. We are both artsy fartsy so museums and shit are high on our list but where I need advice is with nightlife. I would really like to find a laid back place to listen to some blues and/or jazz... not sure where to go. Any ideas?
I am more into laid back places... but its a vacation so id also like to like to find a awesome dance club... I had been to the Roxy a few years back... but that place has closed since.
Any other places out there that I would be stupid to not visit?

I wish I knew NYC better, but I've only been there twice, and the last time was 10 years ago.
