oh the things stupid men say...
i hate going to the store alone... i avoid it at all costs... ofcourse there is the occasional time that i have no choice but to venture in all alone... today was such an occasion....
my local h.e.b. is rather run down and swarming with people that i wouldnt hang out with even if you paid me... alas it is close and if i use the self checkout (which i always do) it is fairly quick.
Today i had a rather interesting comment for a "man" (and i use this term rather loosely) while i stood in a small line waiting for a self checkout area to open up... he told me that it always intrigues him when he sees someone with half hidden tattoos because he then cant help but wonder what the rest of the tattoo looks like... [referring to my stars which go from hip to crotch and my song lyrics that go from boob to butt...] yeah... i just smiled and walked to the next open station... i wish i could be rude... but most of the time i just cant... i mean what did he expect??? He was like in his late 20s... maybe early 30s... he should have known better... ugh. I am so not going to the store alone again... id rather just wait it out until someone can go with me...
The thing is... i wasnt dressed provacitively at all... i didnt look like i was after any attention from anyone... i was wearing basic blue jeans... a black tshirt that is generally pretty long... i usually have no skin showing but when im carrying stuff and doing things i can have like 1-2 inches of skin peek out between my shirt and pants... i mean... i was wearing my glasses... my hair was down and rather sloppy...

you shouldn't take stuff like that so hard. in a round about way, he was complementing you. of course, being a boy, i wouldn't know what it is like to be oogled at, cat called and what not. the most i get is double takes and an occasional stare.
