i finished up most of my Xmas shopping yesterday and got my older brother the complete Police Academy box set and of course i had to watch it before i wrapped it up
well i just finished it a total of 7 count 'em 7 Police Academy movies in less than 24 hours i very much wanted to stop during the last one Mission to Moscow it was pretty bad but i said to myself 'come on you got 9+ hours of classic 1980's movies under your belt don't puss out on 40 more min. of shittiness
anyways reflecting back on the series i am now convinced that it has shaped the general public's view of punks based on the movies' portrayal of them as nothing but thuggs esp in the 1st half of the series, though Zed's (Bobcat Goldthwait) reformation in 3 and 4 may have helped soften the image a bit most i belive still look at us a remeber watching Steve Guttenburg and Michael Winslow battling similar faces
Now I know what to thank when my brother and i recieved sideways glances and cold receptions
a post-script to this entry while i was typing this i was looking a Steve Guttenburg's page on Yahoo seeing what he's done since and found this write-up of one of his movies called Airbrone
An airplane carrying the worlds most lethal biochemical weapons has been hijacked by a gang of airborne terrorist thugs. Now its up to INTERNATIONAL ACTION STAR STEVE GUTTENBURG to stop them.
