I went to the hospital today for a routine check-up type procedure that requires sedation. (I forget the drug but it was good - not excellent - but very relaxing.) All came out normal, and the hospital required a ride home from some type of quasi-amublance service.

I drove my car home. Well, actually, I waited for 90 minutes for the ride to show up, it didn't, and I had driven my car there (planning to pick it up the next day). So I casually walked passed the nurses, out of the recovery area, and kept on going til I was in my car. It's how I suggest robbing banks - simply casually walk past the guards, the tellers, and into the vault, and take a couple of packs of 100s. (Seriously, don't do that - unless you are wearing a suit and have a vacant look on your face like most bored bank employees.)

The nurse just called to lecture me. No driving, etc. I acknowledged, and represented no more driving for 24 hours. It is nice that they care, or at least care about their liability policy.

Honestly, I really did plan to follow their instructions.

I'm a bit sad today, for other reasons. The hospital reminded me of a sad time. Such is being an adult, I've learned.
