After a really stupid falling off the smoking bandwagon I just finished reading Allen Carr's Easyway to quit smoking, and I must say if you smoke and are looking to quit, its definitely a good read I cannot personally vouche for the guarantee YET but I have smoked my "last cigarette" read the instructions for smoking your last one, and I can honestly say that I can see the greener grass on the other side. For the skeptics, I will tell you that in the book he explains and looks at the details of why we smoke and how we have been brainwashed into thinking we need cigarettes, there is no in depth detail on the shit we already know about the adverse health effects, the book basically asks you why do you want to continue to kill yourself slowly, when there is so much more to life with out that little crutch. Normally I wouldn't pass books off to friends if I thought it was shit but this one I would be happy to lend to someone who is a smoker looking for the boost of confidence that is lost because of smoking.

Highly recommended read folks, and if you read it and still choose to smoke it will get you thinking about it and eventually you might re-read it and quit at that time.
