Right, in the last three days, I have officially kicked ass at work.
Short version, my producer came to me on tuesday, asked if I could do some complicated wire removal on a shot, needed to go out on friday afternoon, by end of work today, I'd done that shot, and another they gave me as I was soooo kick ass and fast at the first. Two shots, 3 days. Sweet.
Even the VFX supervisor on the show came up to me and told me how impressed they were I'd done it so well and so quickly. It's days like this that really make me happy. Having spent 3 months on one (admittedly very long and complicated) shot, and had self doubts about my ability, to then prove that I can really do my job and have it noticed it just awesome.
Had a couple of really good workouts this week, looking forward to another tomorrow morning, that is, if I'm not knocked out by this vicious man cold that I seem to have caught
Second one in about 3 weeks!! Friend sat next to me at work has been coughing all week, sounding and looking like death, so I think I know where I've caught it from. Hope it's just going to blow over though. Still, it won't matter too much if I take a day or so off, think I'm pretty much done on this show now, so I'm hoping for a nice relaxing lead into christmas. Beer and pizza night at work tomorrow, Staff christmas party next friday, seeing some of you on the saturday, then a friends birthday on the sunday, and that's the week BEFORE christmas. Bloody hell, I'm going to need the full week and a half off just to recover from that lot.

Oh yeah, has any been to/lived in Adelaide? I may have been offered a job there working next year with a good friend of mine who's a fucking amazing visual effects artist, who says he can teach me loads of stuff. Could be awesome, never been to Oz, but I'd like any feedback on the city, cheers!
