There's an episode of South Park in which Kenny is dying of some wasting disease, and Cartman lobbies to have stem cell research legally unrestricted to help cure him, but it turns out after Kenny dies that Cartman was really just doing it to use stem cells to clone his very own Shakey's Pizza restaurant. When Cartman is speaking on the floor of Congress, he sings 'The Heat of the Moment', and Congress sings along.
This has been running through my mind last night and today, along with a 'Waking Up' by 10 Years, and they've been a surreal addition to the rather low mood I've been in.
