I'm fine.
I wish I could just up and get on a plane and meet some of you. Besides having a great time hanging out (or whatever
) with you guys, you all live in so many different places. And while you may find them boring, perhaps even unbearable, they would almost all be new to me.
Part of it is the small twinge of regret for spending the last three years of my life making a film. While most of you can't say that you've done that and I am extremely blessed with the opportunity to have done what I've done in my life, I get the sense that my time and ability to see the world is getting shorter. Some of you chose to travel, I chose to start a career. And while it is working out for now... I look back down the path behin me and see so many missed opportunities for changes...
Yeah yeah. Im 25. There's plenty of time. But with all that's happened in my life in the last 6 months I have come to realize that I just haven't seen with my own eyes what I want to see.
The world seems like a delicate and miraculous place filled with all sorts of odd creatures both completely like and unlike myself and I want to see them all.
Lofty goals for a piss-poor filmmaker from Canada. But seeing the world on a television screen and through the emails of my friends who have been lucky enough to travel does not fucking cut it anymore.
I want to have my own life in my hands but Im married to a movie.
So, I end where I began.
