Last weeks posts were consumed by my Blind Molestation Story (again, per Nic's request). Now for something completely different:
I had a bajillion thoughts this past week, but I can't bring myself to recall them today. Damn continuity! I know what those guys over at Penny-Arcade are always griping about.
So many new girls, it makes me so happy! Whenever I like something, I feel as though I have an invested interest in their success (maybe it's also because I'm an entrepreneur and I support independent businesses). I really like SG and the atmosphere that surrounds it - so now they're the "Good Guy" and I want them to win. Anybody competing with them automatically becomes the "Bad Guy".
Take for example Nintendo, a company that's always been dear to my heart (though lately their business decisions make me weep). They are the "Good Guy". Sega used to be the "Bad Guy", and I hated the company (though, admittedly, they were great software developers - just terrible with hardware). Sega is now a "Good Guy" because they've given upen competing in the console game and now makes games for Nintendo (and competitors).
This isn't the best analogy since I don't consider Playstation, a "Bad Guy"... I just think Nintendo should rise back to the top. Right now they're makings ome very crappy, crappy mistakes - falling behind in the console technology race, not catering to an older crowd, losing the RPG market, and not endorsing third party developers as well as they should. It'll be many years before they recover - but they'll definitely survive as long as their fan base does. Question is: is their fan base dwindling or growing at this point.
Oh, yeah, X-Box is an enemy. So I guess it still rings true. Playstation is out of Nintendo's league at this point (They're way ahead of the game. Hah, pun.) but X-Box isn't.
My love of brands span lotsa stuff, not just video games by far. Am I the only brand loyalty nut?

I'm a loyal PS2er and felt like i betrayed the thing when i bought an xbox. i was only playing xbox for awhile and the PS2 just collected dust. now i've found a steady mix of each when i get a chance. Just had to get the xbox to get the games that didn't come out on both consoles.
oh yeah nintendo is targeting kids and i think it's gonna kill them off. nintendo = next atari.
