Lessons from Preschool
If you hurt someone, you say your sorry - As soon as you know about the offense.
(and you don't bitch about doing so.)
Own up to the fact that someone was hurt by what you did, and even if it wasn't intentional, say you're sorry for hurting them. (don't justify it. just say sorry for hurting them -EVEN IF YOURE NOT WRONG in the offending action!!!!)
It's simple.
It keeps the people in your life happy, the world turning, and peace to all.
Those simple words can save a friendship, a working relationship, a marriage, business agreements, ect.
When someone asks or demands an appology, recognize that they're asking you to recognize that you've done something to hurt the relationship and that you care about the person and the interactions between the two of you and wants a confirmation that from that caring you will do what it takes to fix the wrongs youve done.
I'm on the verge of losing a friend because he hurt my feelings, and is bitching about appologizing. He refuses to recognize that his complaining of "why should he have to appologize when he did nothing wrong" shows a distinct lack of caring for me, my feelings or our relationship. Such antics make me wonder why I even spent time with the man in the first place.
I wish he'd get his head outta his ass and realize that he's gonna lose a friend for his lack of caring and complaining about not appologizing.
