HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: The Lakeview Lounge on Broadway, south of Foster.

Let me tell you about my evening. I go to this bar with my friend Oriana. She's got friends that are going there, so we meet up with them. I walk in and hear the sweet sounds of a jazz/rock trio. The ambience is reminiscent of something you might have found on the outskirts of vegas circa 1950s. The place is packed and as I make my way through the crowd I see that the stage is behind the bar! The band is playing behind the bar! What!? Awesome.

A Description Of The Band:
The Drummer - bald, except for his mohawk. I couldn't really tell if it was a mohawk at first because he is bald. Not just shaven, but actually balding. Sure enough, it was a mohawk. And it had a ponytail in the back.

The Bassist/Singer - had the 20-yard glare. His scruffiness was akin to late Jerry Garcia, but the similarity ends there. If he weren't holding a bass guitar, the only other thing that would've looked natural in his hands was a sign reading "homeless vet, please help. god bless you." His voice was a sweet drunken tenor and I thought he was missing half a finger, but sadly that ended up being false.

The Guitarist - man this guy was jamming his jazz guitar. Tallish, fatish, and wearing a beret to cover his long, thinning hair. When he jammed, the expression on his face led me to believe that he was paranoid about being foiled by his guitar. The glances he gave his guitar were something out of a Newman vs. Seinfeld conflict. It was amazing.

So i'm listening to the band jam. Rock Country Jazz Latin. In walks a octigenarian with a powder blue jacket and a blonde woman 40 years his younger...making her about 40. His attire totally fits the motif of the bar. I'm thinking it couldn't get any better when in walks a sleezy looking latin guy wearing a light blue tuxedo with a ruffled shirt and a black fluffy bow tie. I am not kidding. Along with this guy (who was wearing sunglasses on his head after midnight) was a large bouncer looking guy in jeans and a t-shirt and an old 60 or 70-year old woman with...you guessed it...blonde hair. I'm not going to tempt my brain with what their relationship might be, but i'm guessing it is totally hott.

So the night progresses and during the next set a fight breaks out between some guy in an orange hawaiian shirt and the guy in the light blue tux. There is blood all over the place and I'm sitting there in my booth watching as the scuffle gets moved outside, thinking "this is the greatest place in the world."

The night goes on. There are beautiful girls dancing to the melodic trio. Man were there some beautiful girls. Including two thirds of the hilarious Triplette . Once again, I'm thinking what a great evening, it couldn't possibly get any better than this. Then as I'm preparing to leave, saying my good-byes, the fantastic trio (who I decided will play at all of my birthdays and weddings) plays the greatest (and might I add funniest) song ever written in the history of the western world----
