Things currently interesting me:
The Creative Commons. A project to create licenses for creative works that allow for sharing and derivation without sacrificing all of the creator's rights. A positive step forward from the current system of Intellectual Property. Wired is currently running an Issue that includes a CD of material licenced under these licences. This stuff is pro file sharing and pro remixing.
THE URBAN ARCHIPELAGO an article about the nature of America revealed by this last election and arguments about how the Democratic party needs to focus itself as the party of the Cities. Very interesting but the writer gets about out of hand with his hyperbole and well put downs of republican voters and Country folk. Worth reading despite the tone. Combined with what I am calling the Language of Rights and What's Right I think this is a major part of what the Democratic party should be doing.
RSS Feeds. RSS Feeds are like the old news feeds that reporters had in the fifties only on your computer and more of them. They are an excellent way of collecting information and keeping track of your friend's blogs. I am collecting many news sources and personal blogs and well anything that interests me and has an RSS feed. I am Currently using the Sage extention for Firefox to read the feeds.
