Holy crap. In Japan airport. Everything is amazing. On hour 21 of 24 hour layover. Plane to New Zealand leaves in 3 hours. So freaking excited. 12 days in New Zealand then back to Japan for four months. Holy crap.

I've been thoroughly entertained wandering the airport for the past day. And the rows of seats are nice and cushy for optimal sleeping upon. And the commercials playing on the huge flat-screen TVs everywhere are hysterical.

The bathroom stalls here are ridiculously tiny.
Here is the list of things I have dropped in the toilet so far:

1. sweater + coat (only sleeves were wettened)
2. birth control patch
3. entire roll of toilet paper

I fear the tiny nature of Japan will not be well suited to my clumsiness. But that's okay. I am more than willing to play the role of stereotypical bumbling foreigner. With gusto!

Toodles.

-thanks! yeah, MOMA, you'd be surprised how anticlimactic it feels

-Japan has KFC! And it's one of the cheapest things you can eat there!

-Japan, especially Tokyo and Osaka--feels more like being on the internet than any other real place on earth. Everything is available and displayed and yet at the same time it all seems to be for sale and firmly controlled by capitalism and it all seems obscurely distant and safe while at the same time being sort of tempting and there is the feeling that somehow, somewhere, there's some crack in the system through which some real experience might flow.

-i remember your name but not what we talked about because your name is "fenchurch" which is not like "jenny" or something.

see, to me, being in the MOMA is not a crowning achievement--nothing in my professional life is or ever could be a crowning achievment. it's just what other people think of my art.

the best things in life are not things you discuss in mixed company.
