Trust is more like having faith. If you believe then you will trust, but there is no way to prove what you believe in. When you lose trust, you have enough evidence.
Trust is as real as you want it to be.
For me, you have my trust on day one. If at anytime you break my trust and you want to be trusted again, you have to prove to me that you deserve it. You have to earn my trust so to say.
Trust is totally needed thing in life. If you don't have trust you can never have any great relationships. This includes friendships, working relationships, student/teacher relationships. All of the them. If you don't have trust you don't have foundation for a relationship and the relationship with fail.
Why is this sounding like the begining of a psychology essay?
I think you should trust the untrustworthy one, he deserves it until he does something to break it. Just my thoughts.
