Yes, once my ex and I were walking the dog when the dog went nuts dragging us toward a tree.  In the hollow bole of this tree we found 3 orange tabby and one black kittens.  I said that their mom was probably just out briefly hunting, but we came back a fews hrs later and they were there crying.  We went a distance away and watched for a while, but no momma came back for them.  So we took them in and adopted the tabbies out.  The black one we kept and named Gamin.
