For the past two years, I haven't had time to do much of anything except schoolwork. For this reason, I haven't read a book just for fun in a very long time. I'm out of practice, but this month, since I have more time, I want to read. I have a very long list of books that I have been intending to read or re-read for a long time. Here are some I'm hoping to get to soon. I already have most of them sitting sadly neglected on the shelf:

-Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman
-Geek Love - Katherine Dunn (I've wanted to read this for a while, but seeing how popular it is around here, I've moved it up in the queue)
-Automated Alice - Jeff Noon
-Invisible Monsters - Chuck Palahniuk
-A Wizard of Earthsea - Ursula LeGuin
-Wolves of the Calla - Stephen King
-Music for Torching - A.M. Homes
-Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson
-Kitchen - Banana Yoshimoto

Classics I'm ashamed to admit I haven't read yet:
-Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
-Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
-Beloved - Toni Morrison
-Naked Lunch - William S. Burroughs

Classics that must be re-read:
-1984
-Heart of Darkness
-The Great Gatsby

Any more suggestions?

This should keep me busy. Or, that is, if I ever get around to it.

misstyrios:
Brave New World, Catch-22, and Beloved are all fantastic books. I would have to say that I was not a fan of Naked Lunch, though. I usually like stream-of-consciousness style (especially a la Joyce or Faukner), but Burroughs was just too much. Mostly due, I think, to the lack of plot. I would suggest putting that one aside before the other classics.

For a good, more modern novel, check out Kissing in Manhattan, by David Schickler. It's a great collection of vignettes that all tie together, all centering on slightly odd and downright fascinating characters.

After you Read Chuck Palahniuk Read "The Contourtionist's Handbook" by Craig Clevenger. It's a very very good and detailed book. You'll like it if you like Chuck, I promise.
