The Saturday before last, twice-greyed nulleretica/whatever-his-name-was and I went to the Black Sun Festival in New Haven. It was at a place called "Toad's Place" right across from Yale.
1. The pleasant surprise was The Last Dance. Enjoyed
2. I had most wanted to see Combichrist, and they were good, but not as good live as Front Line Assembly, seen many years ago. Oh, how would I like to see them again. [pining face] And how great are they to have gone to Albuquerque back then at all? Longlasting fond memories.
3. Though it was hot hot hot, many people were all dolled up in their goth finery. An enjoyable sight. The person who most stood out was not the man with the two cylindrical red hair bits shaved and sticking up from his forehead, nor the girl in underpants, fishnets, and an army cap, but rather an old guy (at least in his 60s) in a light-colored suit. He wandered through the crowd looking disgruntled. Why was he there? Did he own the place? That seemed unlikely as he continued to wander through the crowd. Was he the father of the Chemlab lead singer? Did he like the music? Was he staring at the young gothy asses? Who knows.
4. If you have to go to a full-service station on the side of the freeway in Connecticut, and you get there and nobody comes to pump the gas, go out and start pumping it yourself. That'll get them to show up pretty fast.
5. One of the very few occasions I actually got to have my septum ring visible.
6. Whatever else I forgot
7. There's this 24hr gourmet grocery/little restaurant place there. NO FAIR! Why does Yale get this, and, say Brown doesn't? Oh well

They still have full-service stations in this country? I haven't come across one in YEARS.

i clicked on the black sun link when you put it up and decided i would not go because i'd never heard of any of those people, which is too bad, i could've shown you around hideous hideous new haven. we hate that grocery store, by the way, it replaced an older and cheaper and grosser one and in general contributes to the "this-end-of-the-streeet-is-for-students-not-you-local-riffraff" vibe of that part of york street. oh well
