Guess I may as well do a blargh. I'm too broke to do anything else-- and pretty bummed about it, frankly. Yea. . . look at this morose muthafucka right here. At least I have a little chunk of earwax hash and some smooth tunes to combat misery.

And I did recently invest in an SG membership renewal. Cancelled my account a few months ago, and when it ran out I changed my mind and renewed. So I'll be here another year, for whatever that's worth.

I've been getting my garden started. I've planted garlic, strawberries, sugar snap peas and spincach, and I'm going to get seed fingerling potatoes in the ground this weekend. I have lemon boy, Russian black krim, roma and big beef tomatoes started inside. And peppers-- California wonder green/red bell, pot of gold hybrid yellow bell, peach habanero, early jalapeno, and Corno di Toro Italian roasting peppers. I also started two slicer cucumbers. I have red onion transplants and Waltham butternut squash seeds to plant after the last frost, and my friend is supposed to be bringing me seed for Purple Haze carrots and buttercrunch lettuce. I ordered a cutting of a blueberry bush as well, although my hopes aren't super high for that-- we'll see what it does. I couldn't get seed for Hungarian hot wax peppers, hot cherry peppers or Jamaican dark chocolate habanero, but my local nursery will have seedlings for all of them, and early Girl tomato.

I just started potted strawberries and Lisbon white bunching onions (for green onions) on my balcony. When it gets warm enough I'll also start sage, dill, cilantro, Italian pesto basil and Mrs. Burns lemon basil. So that's cool-- I'll at least have good fresh stuff to eat soon enough. I'm hoping to have spinach within a month, and I'll plant a second crop soon here so I can get two in before the hot weather. The peas should produce fairly quickly also, and I'll be able to get a fall crop of both of those and the lettuce. At least theoretically-- this is my first time gardening in Colorado, so we'll see.
